This Lotus is 2 years old. It is growing in a 18" plastic pot

which has been put inside a large brown jug fill with water.

Duckweed covers the water's surface and creek minnows eat mosquitoes.

For best results grow in full sun.

The plastic pot containing the plant was stored under the house and the jug emptied to prevent ice damage.

There have been two blooms so far this season, and there are more developing.

Lotus can be purchased at Perry's Water Garden in Franklin. Divisions are made March through May.
