There are a number of large trout in the trout pond and they fight well. There is a canoe at the pond, but you should get a life jacket from the boathouse at Long Lake ( be safe wear a jacket, the water is very cold in the pond this time of year). Fishing from the bank is also productive and there is plenty of room for casting. Marcia and I have tried different flies in the trout pond, and have had consistently better luck with large, black wet flies. You can buy flies at Brookings in Cashiers.
Get barb less hooks and releasing fish is the rule.
