Last Summer's Garden

    We have real trouble with powdery mildew here in the southern highlands. This is especially true for zinnias. Last summer we tried some of the new varieties and were amazed how well the did. 

The picture below was taken in September. Notice that the leaves of the zinnias,no mildew, no spots. Unbelievable for our area where high humidity
and afternoon showers are the rule.

The variety pictured here is "Senora." Seed are available from Burpee's
and we saw plants in 4" pots at local nurseries.

Our plants were deadheaded and sprayed for mildew weekly.
