Renovation of the landscape at High Hampton Inn in Cashiers, NC.
An overgrown hemlock hedge and nandina planting restrict the view from the hotel's back patio.
Morning sun has been a longtime problem in the dinning room which is on the first floor.
The hedge was removed and English oaks were planted along the length of the building. Grass was planted in front of the oaks. The oaks will shade the dinning room windows, the increased grass area increases the usable area of the lawn. And finally the distant view is improved.
