Would you like to learn more about the naturalistic style of gardening and environmentally-responsible gardening practices? The Village Green is seeking enthusiastic individuals to volunteer staff and explore the fascinating world of naturalistic gardening. Your support will help to insure that our gardens continue to be enjoyed by the public for years to come.
Volunteer Position Descriptions:
Tree Girl Garden: Assist the horticulturist along the shaded paths surrounding the garden. Winter is used for planning.Spring activities are planting, mulching and watering new plants. Assist in the general weeding, dead-heading, and grooming of naturalistic plantings.
Wetland Walk:Assist the horticulturist in the maintenance of flower beds surrounding the wetland and sphagnum bog . Help with weeding and grooming of the wetlands, planting edges, and moss borders.
Woods Path Garden:Assist with designing and developing this new area. Help plant a grassy woodland glade, build paths., and establish a plant native
The Al Balistere Lawn Garden: Assist horticulturist maintain and develop the gardens in the area between the intersection and the gazebo. Spring activities are planting, mulching and watering new plants. Assist in the general weeding, dead-heading, and grooming of naturalistic plantings.
The Play:Assist in maintaining the playground, planting the flowerbeds as well as weeding, watering, and deadheading during the spring and summer.
